Medieval Town of Rothenburg ob de Tauber Jog and Run

Veronica Davis 2022-01-13

Beginning the New Year with a healthier lifestyle is important not just for our health but for our mind and Spirit. It is not just about what we read but what we do with our bodies. This year I will be posting more of my experiences of keeping fit and yet being educated by famous trainers around the World.

I have been exploring new areas and loving it.  In the year of  October 2021, I was able to visit Dubai and be part of the World Blockchain Summit in the United Arab of Emirates. Heading there from Canada was a long and exhausting trip. Getting there meant visiting new countries that I have never visited before.

The Covid-10 pandemic meant I was not able to get out of the Airport. But what I was able to do was  experience the touch down of culture for the first time in France and Germany. While in Frankfurt, Germany, my experience was not pleasing. The police presence inside the Airport gave me the creeps.

A lot of police force walking up and down patroling the inside of the Airport. I would have to say that it was crazy compared to Paris Airport where no police was present. Atleast not in my sight. In Germany, they would walk up and down making sure everyone had their masks on their faces covering the nose and mouth, cameras were everywhere. Regardless of being my first time in Germany I would have to say that it was not my favorite place due to the police being present inside the Airport. However, when  IT Trainer Casey Gilbert took me on an It journey to Rotherburg ob der Tauber, Germany it was a different laid back experience.

The Covid-19 pandemic meant closures of  Churches, Gyms and Lockdowns. That is when we got the NordicTrack IFIT version. After grugging myself how expensive it was, months later I came to love it. Not only after the four thousand of Canadian dollars spent it was well worth it. Every so day, I travel around the World visiting countries the Covid-19 pandemic would not allow me to visit. Since  the Summer of 2021 the  18 or so inches screened Nordic Track  came with a free one year IFIT membership. No regrets.

Today, here are a few of my results.  After hurting my toe, I ran 9 miles this week and 1.9 miles of distance on this journey burnt 177 calories. The IFIT Trainer Casey took me not just on 36 minute journey but back in time. It reminded me when I traveled to Brugge, Belgium in October 2020. It was all about visiting the past. Casey took me on a 26 minute walk and jog in the medieval town of Rothenburg ob de Tauber. It was amazing to find so much of past history. The workout was amazing as well one minute of a walk and one minute of a jog after you know it I ran over 16 minutes with a hurt toe but plenty of no regrets.

Holy Blood Basilica in Brugee, Belgium October 2020

Brugge, Belgium just like Rothenburg ob de Tauber had a Roman Catholic Church as far back as the medival times. When I think about that, it is not that far back. Thirteen hundred years ago from Jesus's time. In Brugge, Belgium there is the Blood of Jesus on a Shroud that is to this day being protected in the Sacred Basilica of the Holy Blood. I was one of four people on that day to be close and infront of the Shroud where I prayed for Jesus Christ's protection. All true to this day.

In Rothenburg ob de Tauber there is the Saint James Church. In my book called " Triumphants", I discuss a little about Saint James one of Jesus Christ Apostles.  Jesus Christ called him and his brother the Apostle John Sons of Thunder. The Apostle James visited Spain hence the Santiago de Compostela. Both Churches have pilgrims to this day.

The Saint James church in  Rothenburg ob der Tauber is situated along the Ways of Saint James to Santiago de Compostela. There has been over 1000 pilgrims arriving at St. James Church each year. It is World-famous: the impressive Holy Blood Altar by Tilman Riemenschneider.

The Rothenburg's St James Church was built between 1311-1484. Its east chancel was completed in 1322, nave built from 1373-1436, and west choir, which bridges the street, from 1453-1471. The church was consecrated in 1485 by the Bishop of Würzburg.
